CARBONDALE, Ill. (NewsFirst) – Carbondale police officers and detectives, with assistance from members of the Illinois Law Enforcement Alarm System (ILEAS) Special Response Team, executed search warrants at two residences in Carbondale on Tuesday morning. According to the Carbondale Police Department, the warrants were obtained as part of an ongoing investigation into recent incidents involving weapons offenses in the city.

One person was taken into custody at the residence on South Graham Street without incident. Police say Alaye T. Graham, 19 years old of Carbondale, was charged with Armed Violence, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Firearm Ammunition, Possession of a Firearm without a FOID Card, and Manufacture/Possession with Intent to Deliver Cannabis.

Police say Graham was incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail. The investigations are active and ongoing.
