BENTON, Missouri (NewsFirst) — Scott County Sheriff’s department is investigating the shooting death of a Scott County teenager.
Scott County Sheriff West Drury said at about 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, November 21, the sheriff’s department dispatched officers to the scene of an 18-year-old male who had suffered a gunshot wound.
There were a number of witnesses at the scene and the investigation continues into how the incident occurred.
The sheriff’s department was assisted by the Miner Police Department. Numerous officers were dispatched to the scene.
Shortly after arriving on the scene, police reported that the 18-year-old had succumbed to his injuries.
Numerous agencies are investigating the shooting.
As of this morning, no charges had been filed and the investigation continues.
The name of the teenager has not been released pending family notifications.
