HICKORY, KENTUCKY (NewsFirst) — On November 27, 2023, at approximately 7:55 AM, deputies with the Graves County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to KY 1241 near the entrance of Pilgrim’s Pride, in the Hickory area, for a three-vehicle injury collision.
Video surveillance showed Tammy Sanford, 54 of Hickory, was operating a 2014 Ford SUV traveling South on KY 1241. When Sanford was approaching the entrance to Pilgrim’s Pride, a vehicle that was traveling Northbound on KY 1241 turned into the parking lot of Pilgrim’s Pride. When this vehicle turned in, a 2012 Fiat operated by Clayton Ali, 28 of Paducah, pulled from the parking lot into the southbound lane of travel turning north. This caused Ali to pull directly into the path of Sanford. After the Sanford and Ali vehicle collided, they slid into a 2015 Chrysler operated by Danielle Ferrell, 30 of Mayfield.
Mrs. Sanford and Mr. Alii were transported by Mayfield-Graves County EMS to local hospitals for non-life-threatening injuries.
Deputy Zac Smith investigated the collision. He was assisted by Chief Deputy Jeremy Prince, the Viola Volunteer Fire Department, Graves County Office of Emergency Management, Pilgrim’s Pride employees, the Mayfield Fire Department and Mayfield-Graves County EMS.
