Welcome to the first day of meteorological winter. What is meteorological winter? Meteorologists are a bit weird. We measure seasons a little differently than the rest of the world. We consider December, January, and February to be winter.

Today will not feel like winter. As a matter of fact, temperatures will be above average. You can expect widespread 50s and 60s.

A cold front will push across the region later today and tonight. This will bring cooler air into the area. Nothing extreme. No snow. No ice. No real winter in sight!

We will have quite a few clouds today with gusty winds. A few lingering showers, as well. We also have patchy fog in the region this morning.

There are plenty of holiday activities this weekend in the region. Christmas Open Houses, Christmas tree lightings, and parades. I hope you and your family can enjoy some of the festivities.

I kept low end rain chances in the weekend forecast. Mainly in the 10% to 20% range. Slightly higher Saturday night. Any rain that does fall would be on the light side.
