A chilly night ahead of us. We will continue to have clouds, patchy dense fog, and light showers/drizzle pushing across the region. No snow or ice. It won’t be cold enough for that!

Here are the numbers.

Tonight.

Sunday

Rainfall totals tonight will mostly be in the 0.00″ to 0.05″ range. Not much. Just enough to wet the sidewalk and grass.

Dense fog could cause travel issues overnight. Use care.

3:15 PM radar shows light showers pushing through Missouri and Arkansas. Their movement was east northeast. Moving into our local area.

I am watching a system around December 10th and 11th. That could bring showers and thunderstorms to the region. Too soon to know if severe weather will be a concern.

The GFS model shows the system moving through the region December 9th and 10th. Other models show it arriving December 10th and 11th. I will watch trends on this one.

The Storm Prediction Center is watching this system, as well. They did mention it in their day eight outlook.

Friday/Day 7 and Saturday/Day 8
On Friday, moisture return is forecast across the Southern Plains and Ark-La-Tex, as a mid-level trough moves into the western U.S. A closed-off low, associated with this system, is forecast to develop on Saturday across the Four Corners region. Ahead of the low, thunderstorm development could occur in parts of the southern Plains on Saturday. However, predictability remains low at this extended range, mainly due to uncertainty concerning instability and system timing.
