FARMINGTON, Mo. (NewsFirst) — The Farmington Police Department is reaching out to the community for assistance in locating a vehicle that may have incurred damage from a fire apparatus during the Farmington Christmas Parade on Friday, December 1st.

According to the press release from the Farmington Police Department, while en route to a commercial structure fire, a Farmington Fire Department Engine had minor contact with the left rear area of a silver or gray Jeep Wrangler parked facing west on West College Street, just west of the intersection of A Street.

The Fire Department continued to the emergency scene, and the Farmington Police Department was promptly informed of the incident. Unfortunately, by the time an officer arrived, the Jeep had already left. To date, the vehicle owner has not reported any damage to the Farmington Police Department.

Evidence on the fire engine suggests that the only contact may have been with the left rear tire of the Jeep. The Fire Department and City Administration are wanting to identify the vehicle and owner to complete the accident report and ensure appropriate compensation for any potential damage.

The Farmington Police Department urges the public to share this information to help locate the vehicle owner. If you are the owner of the Jeep in question, please contact Fire Chief Kyle Carter at 573-756-2324. The Farmington Police Department is actively seeking cooperation to resolve this matter.
