MAYFIELD, KY – On December 3, 2023, at 7:50 pm, Mayfield Police were dispatched to the intersection of Cuba Road and East Farthing Street following a collision involving injury.
Officers on the scene identified Wilson Perez Lucas, a 26-year-old resident of Mayfield, still in his vehicle, a 2010 white Ford Fusion. Perez Lucas had been traveling northbound on Cuba Road with two passengers, Darwen Lucas (22) and Jonathan Lucas (24), both residents of Mayfield.
The collision occurred when Perez Lucas attempted a left turn onto East Farthing Street, colliding with another vehicle that had not cleared the intersection. Perez Lucas’ vehicle sustained damage to the front driver-side bumper area and was disabled due to the impact.
The other vehicle involved, a 2011 blue Ford Escape operated by Dreim Meilleur (18) of Mayfield, was observed stopped in a nearby business parking lot with emergency flashers activated and the horn continuously sounding. Mayfield Fire/EMS was requested for Meilleur due to a potential head injury. The vehicle exhibited damage to the rear driver-side area, and all airbags deployed as a result of the collision. Meilleur was subsequently transported to the Jackson Purchase Medical Center Emergency Room for treatment.
While neither passenger in Perez Lucas’ vehicle sustained injuries, officers detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from Perez Lucas and his vehicle. Standardized field sobriety tests were conducted, leading to his arrest and subsequent lodging in the McCracken County Jail.
