FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (News First) – Saturday’s devastating tornadoes in Kentucky and Tennessee has also impacted Fort Campbell and the soldiers and families that call the area home. The base posted on their official Facebook page a message talking about the situation.

The base also posted a link to a donation via the Armed Services YMCA organization, which is collecting donations to help soldiers and families in need. That link is at the bottom of this story.

To Fort Campbell Soldiers, Families, and the Clarksville Community

We would like to express our deep sympathy and support for all those affected by the devastating tornado that ripped through our community yesterday. Although Fort Campbell didn’t experience a significant impact to our on-base community, we are aware of impacts to Soldiers and Families who live in the Clarksville and Montgomery County community.

We are in close contact with our community partners and working diligently to ensure our Soldiers and Families who were affected are being taken care of.

We would like to add our thanks to all the first responders from across the region who have come to the aid of our community. We are also overwhelmed by the outpouring of support for the community many of our Soldiers, their Families, and workforce call home.

Although mother nature can be an incredibly disruptive phenomena; our community has always risen above the destruction and suffering to unite as a strong and resilient force. We are proud to be part of this local community and are committed to working together to assist all those in need.
