Paducah, NWS: Hundreds of trees snapped or uprooted. At least a dozen outbuildings destroyed, including barns, sheds and garages. Many homes suffered minor damages to roofs, siding, and gutters. Several homes had parts of roofs removed. Several broken power poles. This was part of a longer-tracked tornado that continued into Logan County, KY and began in Montgomery Co., TN.

You can see the tornado on this radar screenshot. This is storm relative velocity and shows wind. The bright green next to the bright red indicates rotation.

The path came out of Tennessee and continued farther northeast than this graphic depicts, as well.

Todd County Emergency Management issued this statement.

As I prepare this update, which will likely be the last regular one, for this event I ask everyone to take a minute to remember 2 years ago when 57 people lost their lives across Kentucky due to multiple tornados. Thankfully we continue to have no reported injuries from this event.

As of about 7:30 last night power has been restored to all areas of the county. Homes or other structures with damages will still be without power until repairs can be made.

As of this morning all state and county roads are open to traffic. Be aware there are crews working in the damage areas so lane closures and slow downs can be expected to continue.

Clean up crews will be working in many locations today. Be aware and use caution when you see them.

At this time we don’t have an official count of how many structures were damaged but it is clear that about 2 dozen received severe damage or were destroyed.

If you need assistance please contact the Dispatch Center at 270-265-2501 we have volunteers waiting to assist with clean up and debris removal.

As always please remember to document any damages you have and to keep detailed records of what it cost to clean up and repair your property.
