GLEN ALLEN, Mo. (News First) – A 79-year-old Glen Allen man, Terry Allen, is facing charges of first-degree murder and armed criminal action in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred this past weekend, according to the Bollinger County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office says the incident unfolded on Saturday, December 16, when deputies responded to a report of a person with a gunshot wound at a residence on State Highway Y around 5:30 p.m. Upon arrival, authorities discovered the body of Tina L. Skaggs, a resident of Gipsy, Mo, in the yard near the home.

The Bollinger County Sheriff’s Office detained a man at the scene, later identified as Terry Allen, who was transported to the sheriff’s office for questioning. Following the investigation, Allen was arrested and booked into the county jail, where he awaits formal charges.

An autopsy conducted on Monday, revealed that Skaggs died from multiple gunshot wounds. Records from Allen’s initial court appearance on the same day indicate that he was formally arraigned and referred to the public defender’s office for representation.

In a handwritten request to the court, Allen sought a speedy trial and the right to counsel in his felony case. A counsel status hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, January 3.
