PADUCAH, Ky. — Dujuan Thomas declared his candidacy for Paducah City Commission on Monday, emphasizing the need for a blend of business acumen and legal expertise in the office.
In a news release, Thomas stated, “While we have individuals with business acumen in the office, there’s a crucial need for someone with both business and legal expertise. Recent years have highlighted that a lack of legal knowledge can result in a downtown parking lot filled with rubble.”
Expressing his commitment to introducing genuine transparency and robust accountability to the city, Thomas added, “I’m ready to uplift those elected alongside me, fostering an environment that prioritizes the best interests of the community. We don’t need yes men or women; we need someone willing to pose the tough questions and advocate for what the community truly desires. We are here to serve the citizens.”
Thomas outlined his key priorities, which include addressing affordable housing, enhancing overlooked communities and roadways, providing activities and opportunities for the youth, finding solutions for flooding issues, and more.
