PADUCAH, KY – Since this incident, the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office has been actively searching for William Philip Neihoff. At approximately 1:17 PM on January 18, 2024, McCracken County Sheriff’s detectives observed Neihoff in a vehicle in the Kevil area of Ballard County. McCracken and Ballard County Sheriff’s Deputies stopped the vehicle and Neihoff was taken into custody without further incident. Neihoff was lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail on the outstanding arrest warrant obtained in this investigation. Neihoff was charged with Assault in the First Degree, and being a Convicted Felon in Possession of a firearm.

McCracken County, KY – On January 13, 2024, at approximately 2:49 PM, McCracken County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a shooting incident on Beyer Lane. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a 25-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the left leg. Immediate medical care was administered by the deputies to control bleeding until the arrival of emergency medical services.
Following a thorough investigation, deputies determined that the victim had been involved in an altercation with 50-year-old William Philip Neihoff, a resident of Beyer Lane. It is believed that during the altercation, Neihoff discharged a 12-gauge shotgun, striking the victim in the leg.
Subsequently, deputies executed a search warrant at Neihoff’s residence on Beyer Lane. As a result of the investigation, an arrest warrant was obtained for William Philip Neihoff, charging him with Assault 1st Degree and being a Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Neihoff is considered Armed and Dangerous. A photograph of Neihoff is attached to this press release.
