PADUCAH, KY – This week the Paducah Police Department has begun training on the Integrating Communications, Assessment, and Tactics Program (ICAT). ICAT is an evidence based de-escalation training program that gives officers the tools, skills, and options they need to defuse a range of critical incidents successfully and safely. This program has been adopted by over 120 law enforcement agencies in 30 states. Research has shown that this program can reduce use of force incidents, along with injuries to officers and citizens.
