HAZEL, KY – On Jan 24, 2024, at approximately 3:30 PM, deputies endeavored to serve court papers at an address on Gilbert Street in Hazel. Upon arrival, deputies encountered two females present at the residence amidst the discovery of suspected illicit drugs. In response, the individuals were instructed to remain seated on the porch pending the acquisition of a search warrant. However, they defied directives and engaged in active resistance. Subsequently, one of the individuals, identified as Camie Wetter, initiated further defiance by unleashing a pit bull from within the premises, which proceeded to inflict a minor injury on one of the deputies by biting their leg. Both females were then detained.

Wetter, aged 53 and a resident of Hazel, KY, was subsequently placed under arrest. She faces charges including but not limited to Resisting Arrest, Trafficking in Controlled Substances in the 1st Degree (Class D felony), Possession of Controlled Substances in the 1st Degree (Class D felony), Possession of Controlled Substances in the 3rd Degree, Illegal Possession of a Legend Drug, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Endangering the Welfare of a Minor, and Harboring a Vicious Animal. The discovery of a quantity of Oxycodone consistent with trafficking, alongside other unapproved pills, contributed to the severity of the charges.

The second female present was issued a citation for misdemeanor charges and a court date before being entrusted with the care of a child found within the residence.
