MARSHALL COUNTY, Ky. — Marshall County Sheriff Hilbrecht commended School Resource Officer Jason Ivy for his heroic actions on January 23, 2023. While fulfilling his duties as SRO at South Marshall Elementary School, Ivy sprang into action upon being alerted to a vehicle fire in the student car rider pickup line. Ivy swiftly entered the vehicle, shifted it into neutral, and pushed it away from the students and the school building. The Sheriff expressed gratitude for Ivy’s rapid response and courageous efforts.
