Well, we’ve had had a week of rain. It has been a long time since we’ve had this many days with measurable precipitation in such a short amount of time.

We needed the rain. Drought conditions will improve, thankfully. I continue to have concerns about drought as we move into spring.

Here is the radar estimated seven-day rainfall totals graphic. What has already fallen.

For now, let’s enjoy the rain.

Imagine had all this rain been snow. We would be measuring feet of snow.

We have widespread rain on radar this morning. It is moving north northeast. It will continue throughout the day and into tonight. There may be a lull this afternoon before more rain advances through the region.

A few showers may linger into Sunday morning over mainly western Kentucky and northwest Tennessee.

Here is what the 10 AM radar looked like. Widespread light to moderate rain.

Rainfall totals will vary from northwest to southeast. a sharp gradient.

I have a 20% chance of rain in the forecast Tuesday. A fast-moving clipper system could brush southeast Illinois and western Kentucky. It may end up too far east and we remain dry.

Otherwise, dry weather Monday through Friday. A slow warming trend as we move through the work week.

I am watching mid to late February for cold weather to return.

Have a great weekend!
