MCCRAKCEN COUNTY (NewsFirst) — The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office arrested an Arkansas woman on drug charges following a traffic stop Friday morning.

On 01/26/2024 just before 11am, Deputy Zach Kimbler conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for traffic infractions near the intersection of Olivet Church Road and Hinkleville Roads.

During the stop, a Sheriff’s Office K-9 alerted to the odor of illegal narcotics coming from the vehicle. Deputies asked the occupants of the vehicle to step out to conduct a probable cause search of the vehicle. Deputy Lindsey Miller observed a female passenger of the vehicle, identified as 28-year-old Krista Galens of Pocahontas, Arkansas, attempting to conceal something in her waistband.

Deputies detained and searched Galens. During the search, deputies located a baggy containing approximately 25 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine and additional baggies inside Galens’ pants.

During the search of the vehicle deputies located a bag inside the vehicle that contained a handgun and some of Galens’ belongings.

Galens was arrested and lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail. A photo can be obtained from their website.
