STODDARD COUNTY, MISSOURI (NewsFirst) — Stoddard County Sheriff, Carl Hefner reports on Wednesday January 24th, 2024 the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Office received a call in reference to stealing on State Highway 153 near Essex.
Upon arriving at that location Deputy Travis Maddox located a white pickup truck and trailer loaded with scrap metal. Deputy Maddox located two male subjects and one female who were later identified as:
45 year old Jessie Hernandez of Sikeston, MO, 37 year old Donya L Smith of St Louis, MO and 45 year old Angela Smith of Sikeston, MO.
During the investigation it was determined the scrap metal items on the truck and trailer had been stolen from the property. All three subjects were arrested and transported to Stoddard County Jail. They are currently being housed on the following charges:
Jessie Hernandez: Stealing Class A Misdemeanor and Trespass 1st Class B Misdemeanor. Bond was set at $5000.00 Cash or Surety.
Donya L Smith: Scott Co warrant for Domestic Assault 2nd $15,000.00 Cash or Surety,Probatioin/Parole Warrant, Possession of Controlled Substance Class D Felony, Resisting/interfering with arrest Class A Misdemeanor, Stealing Class A Misdemeanor, Trespass 1st, Class B Misdemeanor, Making False Report Class B Misdemeanor, and Unlawful possession of Drug Paraphernalia Class D Misdemeanor. Bond was set at $10,000.00 Cash or Surety.
Angela Smith: Stealing Class A Misdemeanor, and Trespass 1st Class B Misdemeanor. Bond was set at $5000.00 Cash or Surety.
All three are currently housed in the Stoddard County Jail
