PADUCAH, KY – On 01/24/2024 at approximately 9:14 P.M. Deputies with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a local business in the Lone Oak Comminuty for an armed robbery. It was reported that a male dressed in black had placed a handgun to the victim’s head in the parking lot demanding money.
McCracken County Sheriff’s Office Detectives began investigating the incident. Detectives spent hours reviewing surveillance footage and canvasing the area.
On 01/29/2024 Janvi Patel was interviewed at the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office. During the interview, Patel admitted that she had made up the story and had taken the money. Patel was cited and released.
