MURRAY, KY – On Jan. 29, 2024, deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the vicinity of North 12th St and Huck’s gas station for traffic violations. During the stop, a search of the vehicle revealed approximately 532 grams (1.17 pounds) of Crystal Methamphetamine, suspected MDMA (Ecstasy), digital scales, and other items indicative of narcotics trafficking. Joseph W. Morgan, an occupant of the vehicle, was observed attempting to destroy or hide methamphetamine upon exiting the vehicle.

Records indicate that Morgan has a criminal history involving illegal drugs and tampering with physical evidence. He is currently out on bond from a recent arrest in McCracken County for Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 2nd offense (Methamphetamine), Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon.

Morgan was placed under arrest and transported to the Calloway County Detention Center, where he was lodged.

Joseph W. Morgan, 41, of Bowling Green, KY, faces charges of trafficking in a controlled substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (2 grams or more of Methamphetamine), tampering with physical evidence, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
