FRANKLIN COUNTY, ILLINOIS (NewsFirst) — Unlawful Restraint Arrest
On Sunday, February 11th, around 8:05 p.m., The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting that William B. Ice III, age 73, of West Frankfort, was holding a family member hostage and was armed with a handgun. Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to the residence and requested further assistance from West Frankfort Police and Illinois State Police.
The situation ended around 10:00 p.m., when Ice exited the residence, still armed, but complied with orders from Law Enforcement and surrendered peacefully. William was placed under arrest and has been charged with Aggravated Unlawful Restraint and Aggravated Assault. The family member was not injured during the incident.
Ice is currently being housed at the Franklin County Jail and is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a Court of Law.
