PADUCAH, Ky. (AP) — On Feb. 13, 2024, at 9:47 p.m., Deputy Jeff Hartman conducted a routine patrol when he observed a Pontiac Bonneville committing traffic violations. A traffic stop was initiated in the vicinity of US60, with Nancey Ali, 45, of Paducah, KY, identified as the vehicle operator.

Due to prior knowledge of Ali’s history, Deputy Hartman requested the assistance of Deputy Latta and K-9 Bobi. K-9 Bobi conducted a free air sniff, indicating the presence of illegal narcotics within the vehicle.

A subsequent search uncovered a syringe containing a liquid substance, which tested positive for methamphetamine.

Ali was taken into custody and charged with the following offenses:

  • Careless Driving
  • Windows not Safety Glass
  • Failure to Possess License
  • Possession of a controlled substance in the 1st degree, 1st offense (methamphetamine)
  • Drug Paraphernalia – Buy/Possess
  • Failure to Produce Insurance Card
