WILLIAMSON COUNTY, ILLINOIS (NewsFirst) — Methamphetamine drug arrest.

On February 10, 2024, at 1430 hours, Williamson County Sheriff’s Office Deputies observed a miniature off road motorcycle traveling north on Hafer Road, near Brownsville Road.

Once behind the vehicle, Deputies observed the driver disregard a stop sign at the intersection of Hafer Road and West Stotlar Street and then continue eastbound on West Stotlar Street.

A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Thomas L. Burnett, was discovered not to have a valid driver’s license.

Further investigation resulted in the discovery of a clear plastic bag containing a white crystalline substance that later field tested positive for Methamphetamine which was located on Burnett’s person.

Burnett was cited for the following:

Possession of Methamphetamine

No Valid Driver’s License

Operating Uninsured Vehicle

Disobey Stop Sign

Operation of Non-Highway Vehicle on Public Roadway

Burnett was transported to and remanded into the custody of the Williamson County Jail.
