WILLIAMSON COUNTY, ILLINOIS – (NewsFirst) — Possession of Methamphetamine

Williamson County, Illinois – On February 14, 2024, at 1034 hours, Williamson County Sheriff’s Office Deputies observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation in the area of Park Avenue and Herrin Road.

The vehicle was stopped and during the traffic stop a Williamson County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit arrived on scene to assist. A free air K9 sniff of the vehicle resulted in a positive alert to the odor of illegal narcotics.

During a probable cause search of the vehicle Deputies located Methamphetamine in a wallet. The wallet, belonging to a passenger of the vehicle who was identified as Candice L. Scro, contained multiple debit/credit cards as well as a paycheck with her name on it.

Scro was arrested and cited for Possession of Methamphetamine.

Scro was transported to and remanded into the custody of the Williamson County Jail.

While transporting Scro to the Williamson County Jail, she informed Deputies she had additional contraband on her person.

Upon arrival at the jail, Scro retrieved a clear plastic bag containing a white residue from her pants and surrendered it to Deputies.
