MURRAY, KY (NEWS FIRST) – The Lakers amassed 66 team points, securing first place, while Heath Middle came in second with 21.5 points, and Paducah Middle claimed third with 10 points.

In individual competitions, Lakers dominated across various fields. Ava Bogard clinched the regional championship in science, with Ella Martin and Collin Naber following closely in second and third, respectively. Ella Martin also secured the regional championship in fine arts, with Hayden Gilbert as the runner-up and Ella Finley in fourth place. In mathematics, Ava Bogard took the runner-up spot, with Kyler McKeel and Mason Riley securing fifth and sixth places. Molly Pierce and Theodore Perlow shared the regional championship in social studies, with Tyler Saalwaechter coming in fourth. Hillary Bohannon claimed the language arts championship, with Collin Naber and Tyler Sebby securing second and sixth places, respectively. Mason Riley clinched the composition championship, with Leah Hughes in sixth place.

In team events, Lakers triumphed in Quick Recall and secured the regional runner-up spot in Future Problem Solving. The Quick Recall team boasts an impressive season record of 25 wins and 0 losses, with three tournament championships. Notable individuals like Ava Bogard, Hillary Bohannon, and Ella Martin achieved high rankings statewide, setting the stage for the upcoming state tournament in March.
