STODDARD COUNTY (NewsFirst) — Stoddard County Sheriff, Carl Hefner reports on Tuesday February 27, 2024, a Stoddard County Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of State Highway H and State Highway U near Bernie. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Dustin Hadley of rural Dexter. During a search of the vehicle Hadley was driving, a loaded pistol was located. Hadley was discovered to be a convicted felon and is not allowed to possess a firearm. A further search was conducted revealing a small plastic bag containing a crystal like substance, which was later field tested positive for methamphetamine. Hadley was placed under arrest and transported to Stoddard County jail where he is currently housed on the following charges:

Possession of controlled substance Class D Felony

Unlawful possession of a firearm Class D Felony

Unlawful use of a weapon Class E Felony

Hadley has been held in Stoddard county jail on a no bond warrant for the above charges
