FRANKLIN COUNTY, ILLINOIS (NewsFirst) — Methamphetamine Trafficking Arrest

On February 29th at approximately 7:40 pm a Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputy initiated a traffic stop on West 7th Street in West Frankfort. During the stop, K9 Vader conducted a free air sniff of the exterior of the vehicle and indicated for the presence of drugs. As a result of the subsequent probable cause search, a passenger in the vehicle, Shane D. Mullen (59) of West Frankfort, was found to be in possession of methamphetamine.

Mullen was placed under arrest and has been charged with Possession of Methamphetamine 15-100 grams (Class 1 Felony) and Possession with the intent to deliver Methamphetamine (Class X Felony).

Mullen is also currently on parole and as a result of this arrest a Department of Corrections warrant was obtained.

Mullen was transported to the Franklin County Jail where he remains. He is considered innocent until proven guilty in a Court of Law.
