CALLOWAY COUNTY, KENTUCKY (NewsFirst) — On March 2, 2024, at approximately 11:55pm deputies were operating a radar unit while stationary on Hwy 641N near Stewart Cemetery Road. A traffic stop was attempted on a vehicle that was speeding; however, the vehicle was increased speed as the deputy activated their emergency equipment.

The driver then turned off his headlamps and attempted to elude the stop. The pursuit continued into Marshall County at a high rate of speed where officers from multiple agencies to include Marshall County Sheriff’s Office joined to assist.

The driver continued onto the southbound ramp of I-69 interchange where it collided with a guard rail. He attempted to continue when he lost control again striking the guard rail a second time with no due-regard of other’s safety.

After traveling on I-69 for a short distance he pulled to the right and stopped. He was found to have a passenger in the vehicle. He was arrested and lodged at the Calloway County Detention Facility.
