SPRINGFIELD, IL (NEWS FIRST) – A 25-mile patching and resurfacing project on Illinois 3 in Jackson, Alexander, and Union counties started on March 4. The project, spanning from Howardton Road near Grand Tower to the Cape T intersection (Illinois 3/Illinois 146), marks the beginning of an $11.6 million improvement initiative. Lane closures on Illinois 3 will be in effect, with flaggers controlling traffic during the construction period, which is scheduled to occur over two consecutive construction seasons.
