MURRAY, KY (NEWS FIRST) – Erika Ontiveros, a senior at Calloway County High School (CCHS), has been recognized as the February Student of the Month by the Rotary Club of Murray.

Projected to graduate in May with a 4.0 grade point average, Ontiveros has demonstrated exceptional academic prowess. She achieved a remarkable 30 composite score on The ACT Test and has received Outstanding Student awards in Precalculus and Honors Chemistry.

Beyond academics, Ontiveros is actively involved in various extracurricular activities at CCHS. She currently serves as co-vice president of the Student Council and as co-president of the school’s Spanish Club. Additionally, she is a member of the BETA Club, Upward Bound, National Honors Society, and Future Business Leaders of America.

Ontiveros is deeply committed to community service. She dedicates her time to A Place to Be Farm Sanctuary, a nonprofit organization focused on the welfare of small farm animals. Furthermore, she volunteers at various community events through school clubs.

Looking ahead, Ontiveros plans to pursue a degree in chemistry and pre-pharmacy at Murray State University, with aspirations to become a pharmacist. She is the daughter of Jorge and Margarita Ontiveros.

Her achievements reflect her dedication and commitment to both academics and community service, making her a deserving recipient of this prestigious recognition.
