Suspect(s): Willie Ervin Hunter, 54, of Oak Ridge, TN, arrested on charges of first-degree fleeing or evading police, first-degree possession of a controlled substance (cocaine), possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of local ordinances

A Tennessee man was arrested after he fled from police, to the point of jumping from the roof of a building to avoid officers.

Officer Coy Dotson attempted to stop a man, later identified as Willie Hunter, riding a bicycle at 11 p.m. without any lights on the bicycle. Hunter fled from officers and was located a short time later, climbing a ladder to the roof of a nearby building. He ignored officers’ orders to come down, and jumped onto the roof of an adjacent building.

Hunter then jumped off the roof and was arrested by officers on the ground. After his arrest, officers searched Hunter and found a pipe commonly used to smoke crack cocaine and two rocks of crack cocaine.

Hunter was treated at Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital and released, then booked into McCracken County Regional Jail on the above-listed charges.
