Suspect(s): Kash H. Perez, 24, of Main Street, arrested on charges of third-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief, first-degree possession of a controlled substance and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia

A man has been charged with breaking into a business near his home and stealing an unknown quantity of merchandise.

Officers were called in the early morning hours of Feb. 27 to an alarm sounding at Romantix adult store, 705 Main St. When they arrived, they found the back door glass shattered.

Surveillance video showed a man wearing a black hoodie, dark-colored pants and grey shoes break the glass and enter the building, placing merchandise in a bag and leaving the store.

Patrol officers received a tip that the burglar was Kash Perez, whose physical features match those of the man on surveillance video. A search warrant was served at Perez’ home, and detectives recovered a bag containing part of the stolen merchandise. During the search, officers also located two pipes commonly used to smoke methamphetamine, both of which contained residue.

Perez was arrested on the above-listed charges and booked into McCracken County Regional Jail.
