MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KENTUCKY (NewsFirst) — On 01/08/2024 the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office responded to 3542 Lovelaceville Road, Paducah KY for a report of a storage unit that had been burglarized. Responding deputies contacted the victim who had received a call from the facility manager who told her they found her lock missing as they were doing their routine checks. Detectives began investigating the incident.

On 02/01/2024 McCracken County deputies responded to 9710 Old US60, Mansfield’s Storage in reference to prior thefts that had occurred at the storage facility. During the investigation, it was determined that 12 storage units had been burglarized.

Deputies on scene were able to review security footage. A grey Jeep Grand Cherokee can be seen entering the storage facility.

On 02/28/2024 the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office responded to 9510 US 60, West Paducah, KY for a report of another storage unit burglary. It was reported that a total of 8 units had been broken into. Detectives were able to review security footage. The same grey Jeep Grand Cherokee could be seen entering the storage facility during the time of the theft.

Detectives were able to determine the suspect to be Justin C. Lloyd, of Metropolis IL. Warrants were obtained for Mr. Lloyd.

On 02/29/2024 McCracken County deputies conducted a traffic stop on a grey Jeep Grand Cherokee being operated by Justin C. Lloyd. A passenger in the vehicle was identified as Shanna K. Hooks of Metropolis IL.

During the course of the traffic stop, deputies located methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and burglary tools.

Justin Lloyd and Shanna Hooks were arrested and transported to McCracken County Regional Jail.

On 03/04/2024 McCracken County Sheriff’s Office detectives and Metropolis IL detectives conducted a search warrant on Mr. Lloyd’s residence in Metropolis IL. Detectives recovered multiple items of stolen property that were reported by multiple victims in the recent storage unit burglaries.

Burglary 3rd Degree (2 counts), PCS 1st Degree 1st Offense methamphetamine, Receiving Stolen Property $1,000. < $10,000, Theft By Deception-Include Cold Checks, Drug Paraphernalia- Buy/Possess, Reckless Driving, No Registration Receipt, No Registration Receipt, Failure to Produce Insurance Card, and Disregarding Stop Sign

Charges:

FTA Warrant, PCS 1st Degree 1st Offense (Methamphetamine), and Drug Paraphernalia- Buy Possess
