WILLIAMSON COUNTY, ILLINOIS (NewsFirst) — Possession of Methamphetamine Arrest Warrant

At 1605 hours, Williamson County Sheriff’s Office Deputies observed a vehicle, operated by the registered owner who had an outstanding arrest warrant. traveling south on Cambria Road.

A traffic stop was conducted on Cambria Road and the driver, William J. Johnston, was arrested on an active arrest warrant out of Randolph County, Illinois.

During the traffic stop K9 “Shadow” was deployed to conduct a free air sniff of the vehicle which resulted in a positive alert to the odor of narcotics.

A probable cause search of the vehicle located a plastic bag containing a crystalline substance that later field tested positive for Methamphetamine.

Johnston was cited for Possession of Methamphetamine.

Johnston was transported to and remanded into the custody of the Williamson County Jail.
