GRAVES COUNTY, KENTUCKY (NewsFirst) — Collision on KY 131

On March 10, 2024, at approximately 8:10 AM, the Graves County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a two vehicle, injury collision on KY 131 at the intersection with Ivy Road. Deputy Larry Jones and Detective Sgt Snapper Seaton responded.

The investigation determined Olivia Champion, 77 of Mayfield, was northbound on KY 131 when she started to make a left turn onto Ivy Road. Champion was operating a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt. Champion turned into the path of a southbound 2011 Toyota Camry operated by John D. Chandler, 17 of Hickory. The two vehicles struck on KY 131. The Chandler vehicle came to a stop on KY 131 after the impact while the Champion vehicle ran off of the east side if KY 131 before stopping.

Champion was transported by Mayfield / Graves County EMS to Baptist Hospital Paducah for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. Chandler reported minor injuries at the scene but was not transported by EMS.

Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office were assisted at the scene by Mayfield / Graves County EMS and the Clear Springs Volunteer Fire Department.
