CHRISTIAN COUNTY, KENTUCKY (NewsFirst) — Christian County Sheriff’s Office Executes Warrant in Burglary and Criminal Mischief Case

On March 9th, 2024, the Christian County Sheriff’s Office executed a complaint warrant on Isom Rd. in relation to a burglary and criminal mischief incident that occurred in Christian County, Kentucky. The defendant, 46-year-old Keith Elkins, is charged with:

* Burglary, 2nd Degree

* Criminal Mischief, 1st Degree

* Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition, $1,000 < $10,000

The investigation revealed that the defendant forced entry into a hunting cabin, removing multiple items and causing significant damage to the cabin. The damage included damage to ceilings in the kitchen and multiple other rooms. removal of copper pipes and wiring, missing kitchen appliances (microwave, crock pots, coffee pots, and dishes), missing bedding and tools, missing upright freezer, chest freezer, and dryer, damage to the utility room door and significant damage to a barn on the property, including removal of slats and siding. The total value of stolen items is approximately $5,000, not including damage to the cabin and barn. The investigation was aided by trail camera footage, which led to the identification of the defendant. The Christian County Sheriff’s Office takes burglary and criminal mischief seriously and will continue to investigate and prosecute such incidents to the fullest extent.
