WEBSTER COUNTY, KENTUCKY (NewsFirst) — On March 10th, 2024 at approximately 2143 Hours, Deputy Eric Elder was assisting the Kentucky State Police with a traffic safety checkpoint at the intersection of US 41A North and KY 56 W in the Dixon area of Webster County.

Deputy E. Elder made contact with Haylea Linzy of Henderson, who was operating a vehicle that approached the traffic safety checkpoint.

Deputy E. Elder observed signs of impairment from the driver and an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Deputy E. Elder administered standard field sobriety testing on the driver and determined her to be under the influence of a controlled substance.

A search of the vehicle was conducted, and drug paraphernalia, marijuana, and methamphetamine were recovered. Linzy and her passenger, Adrianna Gower, denied knowledge and ownership of the substances located.

Haylea Linzy and Adrianna Gower were both taken into custody and lodged into the Webster County Detention Center on the following charges:

Haylea Linzy:

1) Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense (Methamphetamine)

2) Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

3) Possession of Marijuana

4) Operating a Motor Vehicle Under The Influence of a Controlled Substance 1st Offense (Agrivating Circumstances)

5) One Headlight

6) No Registration Plate

7) No Registration Recipt
