BOLLINGER COUNTY, MISSOURI (NewsFirst) — On Wednesday, March 13th, 2024, the Bollinger County Sheriff’s Office received information from a Cape Girardeau County Sheriff’s Office Task Force Officer in reference to a wanted individual traveling through Bollinger County. The information provided was that Jerrod Willis would be traveling through Bollinger County while en route to a predetermined location within Bollinger County. At the time that information was provided, Willis had an active arrest warrant for felony counts of Assault 1st Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Armed Criminal Action out of Cape Girardeau County, Missouri.
After receiving that information, officials with the Bollinger County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff’s Office Task Force Officer, positioned themselves at locations throughout Bollinger County in an attempt to intercept Willis as he traveled through. A short time later, Willis was observed by Bollinger County Sheriff’s Office officials traveling north on Missouri Highway 51 South from State Highway FF. After making that observation, Bollinger County Sheriff’s Office officials pursued Willis on Missouri Highway 51 South before initiating a traffic stop with the vehicle he was operating. After initiating the traffic stop, Willis was placed under arrest and custody of Willis was turned over to the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff’s Office.
All subjects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
