WILLIAMSON COUNTY, ILLINOIS (NewsFirst) — Williamson County Sheriff’s Office Executes Search Warrant On Residence Tied To Distribution Of Crack Cocaine

Williamson County, Illinois – On March 5, 2024, at 1335 hours, Deputies conducting surveillance on a residence located in the 900 block of Glenn Avenue, Carterville observed Antoine D. Winston of Matteson, Illinois exit the residence and depart in a pickup truck.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the truck and Winston, a known resident of the Glenn Avenue residence, was detained.

As part of an ongoing investigation spanning several months, Deputies developed sufficient probable cause that Crack Cocaine was being distributed from the residence.

At 1414 hours, the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant on the residence.

Deputies conducted a search of the residence which located packaged crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia, digital scales, packaging materials, and other supplies commonly used in the packaging and distribution of illegal drugs.

Williamson County Sheriff’s Office Deputies seized $3,479.00 in US Currency believed to be proceeds from the sale of illegal drugs.

The homeowner stated that Winston is her “godson” but when questioned was unable to provide his real name.

At 1745 hours, Winston was interviewed during which time he admitted to using and selling crack cocaine as well as previous involvement in the distribution of controlled substances.

Winston is believed to be a member of the Chicago street gang; “Gangster Disciples”.

Deputies have obtained information that Winston has sold Crack Cocaine from Glenn Avenue at well as 102 Kennedy Street, Colp. This is the location of a January 26, 2024, search warrant by the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office which located 6 firearms, 60.1 grams of Crack Cocaine, 71.03 grams of powder Cocaine, 6.77 grams of Methamphetamine, 7.65 grams of Cannabis, drug packaging materials, multiple digital scales, and $2,335.12 in US Currency.

During that operation, Victor X. Hurd and LaShawn Walker were arrested and both identified themselves as members of the Chicago street gang; “Gangster Disciples”.

“Organized criminal enterprises who view Williamson County as a viable opportunity to distribute illegal drugs are on notice”, stated Sheriff Jeff Diederich.

Winston was cited for the following:

Delivery of Controlled Substance (Crack Cocaine)

Possession of Controlled Substance (Crack Cocaine)

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Winston was transported to and remanded into the custody of the Williamson County Jail where he was served with Notice of Seizure for Forfeiture in reference to the US Currency that was seized.
