PADUCAH, KY (News First) — Thursday night marked the conclusion of the Paducah Police Department Citizens’ Police Academy Class #27, as participants delved into insights from the department’s Professional Standards Unit and Drug Unit.

Assistant Chief Joseph Hayes provided a comprehensive overview of the Professional Standards Unit’s role during the session. Additionally, attendees gained insight into the mission of the Drug Unit from the department’s Drug Detectives.

The evening concluded with a graduation ceremony, where attendees were recognized for their commitment to learning about the police department. The department expressed gratitude to all participants, acknowledging their dedication in investing time to understand law enforcement procedures.

“We want to extend our heartfelt appreciation to all those who attended,” said a department spokesperson. “Your enthusiasm and engagement throughout the program were commendable. We also extend our gratitude to our dedicated instructors, who meticulously crafted and delivered lessons to our exceptional group of ‘recruits.'”
