GRAVES COUNTY, KENTUCKY (NewsFirst) — Hit and Run Injury Accident on US-45S in Water Valley.

On March 24, 2024, at approximately 8:30 PM, Deputies were dispatched to the 16000 Block of US-45S in Water Valley for reports of a vehicle that had struck a pedestrian and fled.

Preliminary investigation indicated that Jaime Jackson of Water Valley was crossing the roadway attempting to retrieve a dog when a burgundy SUV that was traveling southbound at from what witnesses describe as a high rate of speed, struck Jackson. Witnesses advised deputies that the vehicle briefly stopped, and then departed traveling northbound toward Mayfield.

Jackson sustained traumatic injuries and was air lifted to an area hospital. Deputies attempted to locate the vehicle in the area but were unable. Through investigation and witness interviews the vehicle is believed to be a burgundy SUV with front end damage.
