Drug Trafficking Arrest in Mayfield

During numerous drug investigations recently, sheriff’s detectives had been receiving information concerning a suspect who reportedly had been selling crystal Methamphetamine in both Mayfield, and the Wingo area.

An undercover drug investigation Friday afternoon led to sheriff’s deputies and detectives observing and filming the suspect 41 year old Reco M. Berry selling crystal Methamphetamine on the Walmart parking lot at approximately 3:30PM.

Detectives had learned that Berry had prior armed robbery and assault charges in the Chicago area. After the sale, the suspect was covertly followed out of the congested area and stopped near the Ky Hwy 303 and Ky Hwy 80 intersection and was taken into custody.

Subsequently, a search warrant was obtained and served on his residence later in the afternoon which is located in the 900 block of Macedonia Street in Mayfield. During that search, US currency believed to be proceeds of illegal drug sales, and two handguns were recovered and seized. Convicted felons cannot legally possess firearms.

Arrested: Berry, Reco M. age 41

of Mayfield, Ky

Charges: Trafficking in crystal Methamphetamine

Possession of Handgun(s) by a Convicted Felon

Berry was transported to an out of county detention center.

The investigation is continuing.
