MAYFIELD, Ky. (AP) — Authorities say a man has been arrested after allegedly firing a gun outside a residence in Mayfield.
The Mayfield Police Department received a call Thursday night around 11:40 p.m. reporting a man firing a gun outside a residence on West Water Street. Officers responded to the scene and observed a man matching the description provided entering 824 West Water Street.
Upon approaching the residence, officers called the suspect, identified as Charles Holloway, 37, of Mayfield, outside. Holloway complied without incident and was detained.
Subsequent investigation led officers to locate evidence in the front yard consistent with the report of gunfire. A search warrant was obtained, resulting in the discovery of a handgun and a long rifle inside the residence. The handgun was confirmed stolen from McCracken County.
Holloway was taken into custody and charged with multiple offenses, including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, wanton endangerment, and receiving stolen property. He was lodged in the Marshall County Jail.
The incident remains under investigation.
