Work planned in McCracken County over several weeks

PADUCAH, Ky. (April 12, 2024)  A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) plans to install high-traction pavement coating at various locations in McCracken County starting Thursday, April 18, 2024.

Work will initially start along KY 1954/John Puryear Drive at the KY 2187/Husbands Rd intersection near the FiveStar Convenience Store.  This is immediately north of the Interstate 24 Paducah Exit 11 interchange.

The contractor plans additional work in coming weeks at the following locations:

  • KY 1954/John Puryear Dr near the 6mm at the KY 450/Oaks Road intersection
  • U.S. 45/Lone Oak Road at 7.8mm near the I-24 Paducah Exit 7 Interchange
  • U.S. 60/Hinkleville Road at 9.5mm near the KY 998/Olivet Church Road intersection
  • U.S. 60/Hinkleville Road at 11.6mm near the Allen Lane/County Park Rd intersection
  • U.S. 62/Hinkleville Road at 9.2mm near the New Holt Road intersection

Motorists should be alert for work zone lane restrictions to facilitate the work.

The contractor plans to change locations every day or two.  The work schedule will be weather dependent.  Watch for updates with more specific location information as the project progresses.
