MAYFIELD, KY – On April 13, 2024, the Mayfield Police Department responded to Eddie Williams Park following a report of shots fired, where two groups were engaged in gunfire. No injuries were reported at the scene. Responding officers discovered several pieces of evidence, including shell casings and vehicles with bullet holes, in the park and its vicinity.
During the investigation, authorities obtained a description of a vehicle along with its registration number. Approximately an hour later, the vehicle was found on West South Street after another report of shots fired in that area. No injuries were reported at the second scene. The vehicle occupants were detained and questioned. A probable cause search led to the seizure of two firearms, and a juvenile was charged with Minor in Possession of a Handgun. Other occupants were released pending further investigation.
