It’s also important for the public to be aware of the dangers of strangulation. Strangulation is when a person impedes the normal breathing or circulation of the blood of another person. This can be done by applying pressure to a person’s throat or neck, or by blocking the nose or mouth. If you know someone who has been strangled, please encourage them to go to the hospital and get a full exam. Internal injuries may occur with delayed onset of injuries. These injuries can be serious or fatal.
