Graves County, Kentucky (NewsFirst) — Two Vehicle Collision

On April 16,2 024, at approximately 8:00 AM, deputies with the Graves County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the intersection of State Route 80 East and the Dick Castleman Bypass for a two-vehicle injury collision.

Deputies determined that 83-year-old Jerry Coltharp of Wingo was traveling East on State Route 80 East in a 2017 Nissan Rogue. Through the investigation, it was determined that Mr. Coltharp began making a left turn onto the Dick Castleman Bypass. Mr. Coltharp turned into the path of 23-year-old Stephanie Hayden of Mayfield, causing a collision. After impact Mr. Coltharp’s vehicle rolled over, coming to a rest on it’s roof, while Ms. Hayden’s remained upright. Mr. Coltharp was able to exit the vehicle on his own, and was alert and conscious when Deputies arrived.

Mr. Coltharp was transported from the scene to a local hospital by Mayfield-Graves County EMS for minor injuries. Ms. Hayden refused transport after being evaluated by EMS at the scene.

Graves County Deputy Sheriff Zac Smith investigated this collision. He was assisted at the scene by the Mayfield-Graves County Rescue Squad, Mayfield Police Department, Mayfield Fire Department, and Mayfield-Graves County EMS.
