MAYFIELD, KY (News First) – On April 18, 2024, at approximately 8:49 AM, the Graves County Sheriff’s Office responded to the intersection of KY 80 East and KY 303 for a two vehicle collision.

The investigation determined that Timothy Jones, 64 of Wingo, was operating a 2023 Nissan Frontier traveling Westbound on KY 80. Jones was turning left onto KY 303 and turned in front of a 2014 Lexus RX350 traveling Eastbound on KY 80 driven by Shirel Carr, 69 of Mayfield. Carr attempted to avoid the collision but was unable to do so and collided with Jones’s vehicle.

A passenger in the Jones’ vehicle, Teresa Jones, 58 of Wingo, received injuries as a result of the collision and was transported to Jackson Purchase Medical Center by Mayfield/Graves County EMS.

Shirel Carr was injured as a result of the collision and was also transported to Jackson Purchase Medical Center by Mayfield/ Graves County EMS. Timothy Jones did not report any injuries at the scene.

Deputy Chad Hall investigated the collision. He was assisted by Sheriff Jon Hayden, Sergeant Richard Edwards, and Mayfield/Graves County EMS.
