MURRAY, Ky. (New First) — An officer with the Murray Police Department arrested a driver during a traffic stop late Tuesday night after discovering evidence of criminal activity.

The stop occurred around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, on South 4th Street for an equipment violation.

Calvert Johnson, 31, of Murray, KY, was charged with:

  • Operating On Suspended/Revoked Operators License
  • Operating Motor Vehicle under influence of controlled substance
  • Possession of Controlled Substance, 1st Degree (Methamphetamine)
  • Drug Paraphernalia – Buy/Possess
  • Failure to illuminate head lamps

The Murray Police Department reminded the public that anyone charged with a criminal offense is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
