Mayfield, Kentucky (NewsFirst) — Drug Trafficking Arrest

A Mayfield man was arrested this afternoon at approximately 3:30PM after a foot chase in Mayfield for drug trafficking.

Sheriff’s detectives as part of an undercover drug investigation had previously purchased crystal Methamphetamine from 69-year-old Jeffrey D. Blake, of Ridgeway Street in Mayfield.

Sheriff’s detectives went to the area this afternoon to locate and arrest Blake on an active arrest warrant charging Blake with Trafficking in Methamphetamine 3rd Offense. As Det. Snapper Seaton located Blake in the street on Ridgeway, Blake broke loose from Seaton and knocked his police radio away as the detective was asking for assistance then ran into a wooded area where after a physical altercation, Blake was taken into custody.

Blake was found to be in possession of a 10.3 grams of crystal Methamphetamine, dosage units of Lorazepam, dosage units of Suboxone, and a small quantity of Marijuana.

Arrested: Blake, Jeffrey D. age 69

of Mayfield. Ky

Charges: Trafficking in Methamphetamine 2 Counts 3rd Offense

Fleeing of Evading Police

Resisting Arrest

Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd Degree

Possession of Marijuana

Blake has previous convictions for Trafficking in Methamphetamine one in 2021, and another in 2022.

Blake was transported and lodged at an out of county detention facility.
